My diary entry for July 29th 2010 - A Rough Day

* The names were changed

This morning, I woke up with a crazy cramp in my calve. I had to jump out of bed and stand up to end the cramp. This was at 5:40 am. I then took a few minutes to rest and then decided to give Will another massage. I rubbed his arm and he stretched it out so I could reach better. He was laying on his back. I then rubbed his head face and neck. He turned to his side so that I could reach better.

Alia  came into our room at 6:03 am. She fell asleep quickly between Will and I. I got up to take a shower. When leaving for work, I caressed the inside of Will's hand. He opened his eyes and then closed them.

At 10:30, I called him from work asking that he please tidy up the house if he could before the midwife came for her in-house visit. He said: I don't know if I'll have time, I have to go get my dry cleaning. I replied that she was only coming after 2:00 so that he should have time.

I arrived at 2:25 and the midwife arrived at the same time as I. I came in hoping that the place was decent. Will was in the basement with Alia. She was playing and he was most likely laying on the bed as there is nothing else down there. The entrance was messy but nothing prepared me for the main floor.

Not only was nothing cleaned from the mess of the morning but the mess was worse. There were mashed blueberries on the floor, 8 partly chewed strawberries spread over the living room floor. All the non perishables from yesterday's grocery still on the kitchen island, stuff all over the sofa (that I had to move so she could sit) and toys toys toys everywhere. I was beyond ashamed and felt really disrespected by Will.

I heard him later tell Philip (one of the employees) that he spent a lot of time that day searching for pictures on Istock for the website. There is no rush for this and no priority. He could have done something for me but didn't. I did not complain and he did not apologize.

During the midwife visit, he and Alia came upstairs. He emptied the dishwasher and picked up a few things off the living room floor. Alia was crying and disturbing the visit non stop but Will didn't come to deal with her. I had to pick her up while the midwife was trying to monitor the baby's heart and measure my belly etc.

When she left, I went upstairs with Alia. After 3:00, I asked Will if he was ready to go to Ikea. He said yes but needed to be at a meeting for 4:30. We went and didn't find what we needed for Alia's room. Will left for the office at 4:15. I played with Alia in the backyard than made her pizza for supper. Then we played some more as I did two loads of laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I gave Alia a bath.

I called Will at 7:00 to ask when he would be home for supper as I had everything near ready. I had cooked chinese fried rice with Thai sweet and spicy chicken wings and had prepared some batter and sliced onions for some homemade onion rings. He said he would be a while but would call before coming.

Alia had a piece of cheese and a bowl of apple cinnamon cheerios. We then played for a while on the deck and upstairs. I went to hide in her princess play tent and discovered a hardened old piece of poop. No wonder there was a weird smell in the house. Will is leaving her without her diaper all the time and she is peeing and pooping all over the place!!! She jumped in the tent from the other door and layed her hand right on the poop. I cleaned her up and then disinfected the tent.

Around 8:00 I got her diaper changed and got her ready for bed. We watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua and she fell asleep after some cuddling by 9:00. I then came downstairs and said : ''Hi Will'' cheerfully (even though I was upset for the day overall and for him not calling before coming as he said he would). He apologized for being so late and said that the meeting went well.

I put all the food from the supper away as he didn't seem hungry. He was on a call to discuss the earlier meeting for a while, then watched tv and then reheated the chicken wings. He returned to the living room and apologized for not having the place cleaned in time for the midwife visit. I was surprised and simply did a weak smile. He didn't say why he didn't do it and I didn't see the point in saying anything. He asked how my shoulder was and told me a bit about the meeting.

I later was reading a very sad story and was crying until I got to the end where I burst outloud. It was too sad. He tried to take the PC away from me because he didn't want me to cry being pregnant (although my true perpetual sadness is because of him). This story was a good kind of sad about a husband who wanted to leave his wife for another and she simply asked for a one month delay for her son to finish his exams and that her husband carries her out the door every morning for one month.

It explains the change that this did in the husband and that at the end of the month, he broke it off with the other woman and ran home to tell his wife he still loved her only to find her dead in bed..she had cancer and hadn't told him. She just wanted one final month to preserve the dads reputation in front of the child and make the last bit filled with good memories for the son. Very sad!! I went to bed at 10:45. Will came to bed later on and stretched out his arm to lean it against mine.
