My diary entry for August 1st 2010 - Perpetual Crossroad

*The  names were changed.

This morning, I woke up at 7:10. I could no longer sleep because of my back. I still stayed in bed until 7:30. I took a shower and as I was getting out, Alia was just coming towards the bathroom. I changed her diaper and then played in her room until 8:30.

I then brought her downstairs to feed her breakfast. She had PB@J toast with a few bites of a banana and some blueberries and milk. We then played with the playdough for a while and colored. Will got up at 9:15 to use the washroom and took a call on his cell.

As I was watching cartoons with Alia, he came downstairs and put the PC on. He had a call with Gerald and then included Steve on a three way call. I believe he also spoke with Mrs Gonza for a while. I then cooked Will 3 french toast and served it to him on the sofa with a glass of milk. I gave Alia a small bowl of chips as she was insiting but also cut some bananas and gave her strawberries.

I cleaned the kitchen and I entertained Alia and took all the seat cushion covers off and threw them in the wash. I put all the laundry away that Will had folded (despite knowing that all the shirts go on hangers). I organized the top of my closet, the bottom of his closet as well as Alia's closet, cleaned under our bed (and found a ton of Will's ripped off nails again), dusted and cleaned the shelf, top of dresser and washed Alia's toothpaste stains off of my comforter and pillows. I emptied the trash, organized the two main washrooms emptied the dishwasher and loaded it again. I also gave Alia a bath.

When Will had returned from Africa, I had asked him to bring a large hockey bag of baby clothes to the basement. He had simply stuck it in his side of the closet beside all the ties and shirts he didn't feel like hanging up. I had put this bag along with another box at the top of the stairs and asked Will again to please bring them down when he had a chance. He brought them downstairs but simply threw them down in the basement where they piled up at the bottom of the staircase.

I rested for a few minutes in my bed as Alia watched a bit of TV with me. She then went downstairs on her own so I took the time to get dressed for my day (as Marissa was soon to come over to help me with the bigger cleaning chores such as vaccuuming). I fed Alia kraft dinner with milk for lunch, again because she only wanted that. Will wasn't hungry.

Marissa arrived near 2:00.Will was supposed to take Alia to Cosmic Adventure to clear the house for us to clean. He decided to bring her to Home Depot instead as he had things he wanted to buy for the backyard (he already spent over $500 on plants and gardening supplies and didn't take care of it..now its all dead and he wants to invest in it again despite never going outside or sitting on the furniture that he recently bought on credit for $450) I told him: No love! You can't take her to homedepot. (in a pleading voice) He rebutted a few times but then left with her to go to cosmic adventure. This was around 2:20.

Marissa and I cleaned quite a bit. She took the upstairs and I took the odd jobs that I've been wanting to tackle forever. I cleaned the cabinet in the first level bathroom, then Michael's old room and put all the boxes that Will left in the entrance in order in the basement (including the two items he had thrown down the stairs), I brought a few bags from the entrance upstairs along with various items that didn't belong on the first floor. I then cleaned the cabinets under the kitchen sink and organized it all. I scotch guarded Alia's chair and sprayed the oven with Easy Off. I cleaned all the lose papers off the shelf in the living room (mostly Will's) and washed the large item dishes. Took a little break to chat with Marissa then Kevin arrived. He and Marissa left around 4:45.

I tried to reach Will to see where they were at and find out when to start supper. There was no answer. At 5:15, he arrived but chatted with the neighbour for about 15 mins. Alia had come up to see me as I was getting supper ready. I was cooking bacon, frying slicked chicken, making a mesquite mayo, frying ciabatta bread and making ceasar salad. While doing this, I gave Alia  some peaches and fruit puree. She ate a bit here and there and made a big mess.

Will came in and said that she already ate. I asked what she ate. He said a chocolate sunday. I asked what he ate. He said a cheeseburger (later he said he had the combo). I said: So then I am making supper for nothing. He said that he didn't know how long we would be cleaning. I said: and you didn't think to call. He said NO. I told him I tried to call but there was no answer. He remembered his phone was still in the car and went to get it. I ate by myself in the kitchen while he watched Tv.

I asked him to put the cushion covers back on the sofa cushions which he did while watching tv. While eating, I ended up ripping a part of my pregnancy blister on the tip of my tongue and I started bleeding quite a bit. I sat on the sofa and was trying to get it to stop bleeding. Alia wanted me to blow bubbles but I couldn't so Will did. I put cartoons on for her and opened the sliding door for her to play outside. She did both. I then got up to put all the food away and clean the kitchen.

I noticed Alia smelled like poop. She had a big diarrhea that Will (who was beside her the whole time) had ignored. Alia was then hungry. She took some nutella and peanut butter (her private containers), then she had two portions of yogurt with the vegetable supplement I normally add. She also had a few blueberries. We colored and played with playdough again until nearly 8:00. I then said it was bedtime but she went to climb on Will who was reading the news online.

I went upstairs to get things ready for her bedtime. I heard Will huffing and puffing at her saying "Argggghhh. Stop that. No! over and over. He had to get up to deal with her on something and said: Look at the mess you made, clean it up" I laid on my bed as my back was in pain. He brought her upstairs around 8:20. I put toupie and binoo on, changed her diaper, brushed her teeth, watched 10 mins of cartoons, then put her to bed.

I came down near 9:00 and asked him if would be interested in watching the last dvd of the marriage cd's my dad had lent or if he wasn't in the mood for that tonight. He said he wasn't sure what kind of mood he was in. He watched a bit more TV and searched for something to eat.  I offered to cook him something. He said that no, he felt like the big meals he had in Africa and just praised it so much. It made me feel sad because here I am, giving every effort to make varied and pleasant meals for him with a baby in my arms, 9 months pregnant and up until friday, after a full days work and at best I get a thank you.

Its like the widow in the bible who gave her last two pennies..by men it wasn't seen as much but by God it was the most special offering because she gave all that she had, she gave out of lack and because of love. These people at the restaurant...its their job, its a team effort. I am doing it all by myself despite many things and because of my love for God. He then said: are you going to put the dvd in? I asked if he could put it in for me. He reluctatly said : Yeeeaaah.

As Will brought the African restaurant up a second time, I told him I was doing the best I can. He said that he wasn't blaming me and that it would be too late to cook such a large meal anyways. I knew he wasn't blaming me but he was making me feel non-appreciated. He put the dvd on and sat on another chair and played drums on the arms of the chair and tapped on the floor for the first 15 mins.

He didn't seem interested and made a few comments like: Man, he's got a lot to say on this topic or do you really want to see this last section?" I cried a few times during the program. He was upset saying: Why are you crying. I simply said because I have a lot of pain that's all. I didn't get much sympathy from him. I had two eggos and then I went to bed alone and read my bible for a while until he came in.

We both simply went to sleep and I said: Good night sweetie. He said good night. Hope you sleep well. Around 4:00 am Alia came to our bed. A few mins later I returned her to her bed but could no longer sleep. I got up near 4:30 and decided to update my journal. It is now 6:00 am...this day might be long.
